Medford, Oregon- At approximately 3:50 AM on September 14, emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Crater Lake Avenue and East Main Street. The vehicle, traveling southbound on Crater Lake Avenue, failed to navigate the turn onto East Main Street, resulting in a collision with concrete landscaping and a curb.
One occupant of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Medford area hospital for medical treatment. The driver was also taken to the hospital, treated, and has since been released.
Members of the Medford Police Department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team, along with personnel from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene to investigate the crash.
While the investigation remains ongoing, initial reports indicate that both alcohol and speed are suspected to have played a role in the incident.
Authorities say additional details regarding the investigation will be released as more information becomes available.
