Medford, Oregon- The Medford Police Department will be conducting a targeted school zone speed enforcement operation from September 9 to September 13. The initiative is aimed at ensuring drivers adhere to speed limits within designated school zones to enhance the safety of students as the academic year resumes.
Throughout the week, officers will focus on different school zones each day, with multiple schools being monitored on the final day. The specific schedule for enforcement is as follows:
- September 9: Kids Unlimited and Logos School
- September 10: Hedrick Middle School, Kennedy Elementary, and Lone Pine Elementary
- September 11: Oakdale Middle School and McLoughlin Middle School
- September 12: South Medford High School (SMHS) and North Medford High School (NMHS)
- September 13: NMHS, SMHS, Hedrick, Kennedy, Lone Pine, Oakdale, and McLoughlin
Drivers are reminded that school zone speed limits are 20 mph during school days from 7 AM to 5 PM, when children are present, or when flashing lights are activated. The Medford Police Department urges all motorists to stay alert and comply with speed limits to help ensure the safety of children traveling to and from school.
