Bend Man Arrested for Alleged Online Sexual Exploitation of Child

Bend, Oregon- The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of Talon Daniel Arnold, a 32-year-old resident of Bend, in connection with a case involving the online sexual exploitation of a minor. Arnold is facing charges of Luring a Minor, Attempted Use of a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct, and Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the Second Degree.

The arrest follows a thorough investigation by the Sheriff’s Office patrol division, which took place between July 17 and August 4, 2024. Authorities allege that Arnold engaged in online communication with a child under the age of 16, with the intent of sexual gratification.

Arnold was taken into custody on August 4, 2024, on an unrelated charge and has been held at the Deschutes County Adult Jail since his arrest. During his detention, investigators conducted an interview with Arnold, and his cellphone was analyzed by the Digital Forensics Unit. The analysis reportedly confirmed that Arnold had used the phone to send sexually explicit images and messages to the minor.

As a result of the investigation, Arnold has been formally charged with the three aforementioned offenses. The case underscores the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to protecting minors from online exploitation and pursuing individuals involved in such activities.

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and the involvement of a minor, authorities say no further details will be released at this time.
