Shots Fired During South Medford Road Rage Incident

Medford, Oregon- The Oregon State Police (OSP) are appealing to the public for information regarding a road rage incident that occurred over the weekend on Interstate 5 in Medford. The incident, which took place on the evening of August 11, 2024, involved gunfire between two vehicles traveling southbound near Exit 27.

At approximately 9:40 p.m., OSP Troopers responded to reports of a shooting on the highway. According to initial reports, a silver or light-colored Toyota minivan, believed to be an early 2000s model, and a red 2022 GMC pickup truck were involved in the altercation. The situation escalated near the south Medford exit when the occupant of the Toyota minivan fired shots at the GMC pickup.

While the pickup truck sustained damage from the gunfire, no injuries were reported. The motive behind the incident remains under investigation, and the authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the event or has information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.
