Rural Eagle Point, Oregon– The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Search and Rescue (SAR) team has identified human skeletal remains found in a crashed vehicle as those of Graham Case, a Medford resident missing since June 22, 2023. The discovery was made on Tuesday, August 6, in a steep and densely forested area along Highway 140, outside of Eagle Point.
SAR personnel were in the area responding to an unrelated call when a drone search led them to expand their search parameters. This broader search resulted in the discovery of what appeared to be a white Mercedes SUV, crashed in rugged terrain. JCSO detectives arrived at the scene, confirmed the vehicle belonged to Case, and located the remains.
The remains were later identified through scientific methods, with assistance from Dr. Pearson of East Main Dental Center in Medford. A Central Point Police Department Medical Examiner, supported by JCSO and SAR Tactical Rope Rescue Team personnel, collected the remains.
Authorities expressed their condolences to the family and friends of Graham Case. They also extended gratitude to the SAR volunteers, the Medford residents who provided the crucial tip on Tuesday, and all those who participated in the search over the past year.
