Eagle Point, Oregon- Starting this week, the Eagle Point Police Department will unveil a new design for its patrol vehicles. Over the past ten months, the department has acquired and equipped three new Chevrolet Silverado Police Package vehicles and updated the graphics on its existing fleet. Within the next few weeks, two Chevrolet Tahoe Police Package vehicles will also be deployed for patrol use.
This initiative follows an assessment of the current patrol fleet, which revealed that several vehicles had exceeded their safe service life. With the City Council’s approval, the department ordered four vehicles last year using ARPA funds to avoid impacting the operating budget. Due to shortages in available police package SUVs, the department opted for the new Silverado models to ensure timely replacements.
The department collaborated with local vehicle designer Jason Hulst and the team at ERA3 to develop a new look for the patrol vehicles. The new design features a traditional “black and white” color scheme with a modern twist, incorporating ERA3’s patented “DSRPT Camo” pattern. This pattern is subtle from a distance but becomes more visible up close.
Reflective identification has been integrated into the design, with “POLICE” and “Call 911” clearly marked. At night, these elements are reflective, enhancing the visibility and identification of the emergency vehicles.
Residents can expect to see the new vehicles patrolling the streets of Eagle Point and surrounding areas in the coming week.
