Upper Applegate Firefighters’ Equipment Stolen in Grants Pass

Grants Pass, Oregon– Grants Pass Police officers responded to a reported theft at the Holiday Inn on NE Agness Avenue this morning. Thieves stole firefighting equipment from US Forestry trucks parked overnight. The firefighters had been resting after combating the Upper Applegate Fire.

The stolen items, valued at thousands of dollars, include Hotshot backpacks, emergency fire shelters, headlamps, compasses, firing sticks, signal mirrors, first aid kits, water bottles, and two Stihl chainsaws. This equipment is essential for protecting the lives of firefighters and residents.
