
White City, Oregon- Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies responded to a shooting incident late last night in White City, where a victim was found with gunshot wounds and a suspect was seen fleeing the scene.
At approximately 11:15 p.m., ECSO Dispatch received a report of shots fired and a person seen running from the location. Within minutes, at 11:23 p.m., JCSO White City deputies arrived at the intersection of 29th Street and Falcon, where they discovered the victim and immediately initiated life-saving measures.
Concurrently, another White City deputy apprehended the suspect, Romualdo Balero, 33, on Falcon Street as he attempted to escape. Balero, a White City resident also known as Romualdo Angulo Llanes, was taken into custody without resistance.
The victim was quickly transported by Mercy Flights to a nearby Medford hospital and remains in serious but stable condition. Meanwhile, Balero faces serious charges including second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, felon in possession of a firearm, menacing, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. He has been incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail following his booking.
JCSO detectives have assumed control of the investigation, which remains active and ongoing. They are pursuing additional leads to gather more information related to this incident.
As of now, no further details have been released regarding this case.
