Single Vehicle Interstate 5 Crash Kills 23-Year-Old Man

Douglas County- On Friday, April 19, 2024, at 7:58 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5, near milepost 146, in Douglas County. The incident involved a southbound Jaguar F-Pace, operated by Paul William Jordison, 23, of Rochester, Washington.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the Jaguar veered off the right-hand shoulder of the roadway for unknown reasons. Subsequently, the vehicle left the roadway, became airborne for approximately 100 feet down an embankment, and collided with a tree approximately 15 feet above the ground level before landing at the base of the tree.

Tragically, the operator, Paul William Jordison, was declared deceased at the scene. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at high speeds prior to the crash.

Despite the severity of the incident, the highway remained unaffected during the on-scene investigation. Oregon State Police received assistance from North Douglas County Fire and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) in managing the aftermath of the crash.
