Rebuilding of Fire-Damaged Area of Bear Creek Park Playground, Starting Soon

Medford, Oregon– Renovation efforts are being prepared for the beloved Olsrud Family Community Playground at Bear Creek Park following last year’s fire damage. Spearheaded by Leathers & Associates, a playground equipment company, the reconstruction aims to restore and enhance the toddler section, providing a safe and engaging space for children and families to enjoy.

The comprehensive renovation plan encompasses several key upgrades, including the installation of new light fixtures to ensure ample illumination during evening hours. Additionally, a shifting deck will be added to offer dynamic play experiences, while spring toys will be upgraded to meet the latest safety standards.

One of the focal points of the renovation involves reinstalling rubberized tiles, enhancing both safety and accessibility for children of all abilities. Moreover, the musical instruments will be revamped to create a more immersive auditory experience for young visitors.

In line with the commitment to safety and aesthetics, new fence posts will be erected to enclose the playground, providing a secure environment for children to play freely under the watchful eyes of caregivers.

Construction activities are expected to be finished by late March 2024.
