FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7:00 PM THIS AFTERNOON
- WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- WHERE…A portion of southwest Oregon, including the following counties, Jackson and Josephine.
- WHEN…Until 7:00 PM
- IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
- ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 11:06 AM, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. – Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. – Some locations that will experience flooding include… Medford, Grants Pass, Ashland, Central Point, Eagle Point, Talent, Shady Cove, Jacksonville, Rogue River, Gold Hill, Butte Falls, Lower Table Rock Trailhead, Touvelle State Park, Upper Table Rock Trailhead, Britt Gardens, Jacksonville Woodlands Association Trails, White City, Dodge Bridge Jackson County Park, Roxy Ann Peak and Agate Reservoir.
- PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
