Douglas County, Oregon- Last week, the Oregon State Police (OSP) K-9 team intercepted a vehicle on Interstate 5 northbound in Douglas County, leading to the confiscation of 100 pounds of methamphetamine. The incident unfolded on January 4, 2024, around 12:15 p.m., when the OSP K-9 team conducted a routine traffic stop for a violation.
During the stop, a specially trained K-9 was deployed to conduct an exterior sniff of the vehicle, promptly alerting officers to the presence of illegal substances. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered two large bags in the trunk containing a staggering 100 pounds of crystal meth.
The operation resulted in the apprehension of two suspects: Edgar Rene Revolorio (28), the driver from San Bernardino, CA, and Surely Nalley Molina Escalante (35), the passenger, also hailing from Bernardino, CA. Both individuals are now in custody, facing charges related to drug trafficking.
As of now, the investigation remains ongoing, and law enforcement authorities have not disclosed additional information. The OSP and allied agencies are collaborating to dig deeper into the circumstances surrounding this large drug seizure.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
