Central Point- In a coordinated effort, multiple agencies, including Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3), Oregon State Police (OSP), Mercy Flights, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), rushed to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on northbound I5 just south of the exit 35 interchange earlier today at approximately 5:30 p.m.
At least two Mercy Flight ambulances joined other first responders at the accident site. The severity of the incident has led to the complete closure of the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, a measure taken to ensure the safety of both the victims and emergency personnel.

Traffic is backing up for several miles at this hour (see picture above).
As of 6:30 p.m., traffic is being diverted by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) at Exit 33, with a designated detour in place.
Medford Alert is actively tracking the situation and has will provide regular updates as more information becomes available.
