Rogue Community College Expands Table Rock Campus with 10-Acre Land Purchase

White City, Oregon- On December 5, 2023, Rogue Community College’s (RCC) board of education unanimously approved the acquisition of nearly 10 acres of land adjacent to its Table Rock Campus (TRC). This move will increase RCC’s footprint in White City by over 50%, signaling a significant expansion for the institution.

RCC President Randy Weber expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “While we remain rooted in Grants Pass and committed to RCC’s Medford campus, the opportunity to expand our facilities in White City allows RCC to imagine the campus in ways beyond prior conversations.”

The newly acquired land will empower the college to plan for substantial growth in Career and Technical Education, providing a platform to enhance student support services at TRC. This move aligns with RCC’s commitment to academic excellence and student development.

The groundwork for this expansion was laid in November 2023 when council members voted to annex college property into the area, opening doors for future growth opportunities. Previously capped at 3,000 additional square feet on campus, RCC now enjoys the freedom to expand without constraints, thanks to the decisive annexation action.

Simultaneously, RCC’s downtown Medford campus is undergoing a thorough assessment to optimize its Student Success Center. College leadership is considering a spectrum of options, including improvements, expansion, or reconstruction, to ensure the facility meets the evolving needs of students.

Looking ahead, RCC will present a comprehensive list of facilities priorities to the board of education in the coming months. These priorities, developed by the administration, will be grounded in academic planning principles and strategic opportunities identified by the college.

The discussion will also delve into innovative approaches for funding future projects, highlighting RCC’s commitment to sustainable growth and academic excellence.
