On Saturday, November 18, 2023, law enforcement authorities responded to a reported shooting incident at the 1700 block of White Schoolhouse Road, Cave Junction. Deputies from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from Oregon State Police discovered two deceased males with apparent gunshot wounds upon arrival at 3:44 PM. Due to the complexity of the case and limited investigative resources, the Sheriff’s Office requested the Oregon State Police to take charge of the investigation. The Oregon State Police has since assumed control, and the Sheriff’s Office will not be providing further updates on this matter.
The following day, November 19, 2023, at 12:44 PM, Deputies from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from Oregon State Police responded to another distressing call—this time regarding shots fired in the 100 Block of S Kerby Road, Cave Junction.
Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement discovered a male subject with gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and additional details are currently unavailable.
