In the early hours of Sunday, November 5th, the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to a call regarding a potential stabbing victim en route to Fairchild Medical Center (FMC). Upon arrival at the Emergency Room, SCSO personnel encountered a 26-year-old male from Fort Jones, his face and upper body covered in blood, bearing wounds consistent with a stabbing.
The victim’s girlfriend and two friends recounted the night’s events, revealing that they attended a 21st birthday party for an individual named Hunter Daniel Harris. After the celebration, while driving Harris home, concerns escalated as he spoke about harming himself and others with a weapon. In an attempt to prevent any harm, the victim escorted Harris into his residence, only to flee minutes later, claiming he had been stabbed by Harris.
As 911 was dialed, the victim was rushed to FMC. During SCSO interviews with witnesses, another report of shots fired in the same area emerged. Responding SCSO units, backed by the Yreka Police Department (YPD) and California Highway Patrol (CHP), surrounded Harris’s residence. Through a Public Address system, Harris was peacefully summoned out, leading to his arrest on charges of attempted murder.
Following the arrest, SCSO Detectives executed a search warrant at Harris’s residence, uncovering a scene of violence – blood, spent shell casings, multiple firearms, ammunition, and a bloody knife. The stabbing victim survived, according to officials.
No additional information is available at this time.
