UPDATE: Eugene Police report that the subject has turned himself into authorities. There is no longer an active search for the individual.
In an update to an earlier shooting incident that occurred at 590 E. Broadway in Eugene on September 2, the victim, identified as Stephen Anthony Forrest, aged 32, has died.
Eugene Police responded to a report of a shooting at the location at 2:39 a.m. The 7-Eleven employee, identified as Mr. Forrest was found with life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his injuries.
The alleged suspect in this case, Jaisi Tavin Savath, aged 22, hailing from Springfield, remains a person of interest in the ongoing investigation. According to authorities, Mr. Savath fled the scene in a vehicle shortly after the incident and is no longer in the immediate area. The specific vehicle he may be associated with remains unknown at this time, as s report of an Infinity car initially believed to be his, has been located and ruled out by the police.

Given the uncertainty surrounding Mr. Savath’s whereabouts, Eugene Police are urging the public to come forward with any information that may help locate him. It is important to note that he is considered a person of interest in this case, and his potential involvement in the incident is under investigation. Furthermore, authorities warn that Mr. Savath is potentially armed, making his apprehension a top priority.
