Motorcyclist Dies in Crash Near Downtown Medford

Medford Police (MPD) responded to a automobile vs. motorcycle collision yesterday evening at 803 South Central Avenue. Authorities say the incident occurred when a southbound motorcycle collided with an SUV that pulled out onto Central Avenue from a nearby parking lot.

The impact caused the motorcycle to strike the left front portion of the SUV, forcing it into the parking lot of a nearby business. Emergency services were dispatched immediately, and the operator of the motorcycle, identified as Cody Crutchley, 33 years old, was rushed to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC). MPD confirmed to Medford Alert that tragically, Mr. Crutchley was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital.

In response to the seriousness of the accident, the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (S.T.A.R) was called in to investigate the incident thoroughly. Currently, authorities say the investigation is ongoing, but preliminary findings suggest that the collision was not a result of criminal activity.

Authorities are urging witnesses and anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
