At approximately 4:49p, multiple Jackson County Fire District 1 (JCFD1) fire units were dispatched to the Murphy Plywood Plant near Rogue River for a reported structure fire. Rogue River Police and JCSO units were also assisting on scene.
Mutual aid protocols brought in several fire crews from ODF and Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3) as well.
It is believed that all employees evacuated in a timely manner. There is no current spread to any surrounding wildland.
The fire was contained to one area of the mill. There is no current threat to surrounding structures or vegetation. All fire personnel have cleared.
Medford Alert is working to gather additional information at this time.
