On July 7, emergency crews swiftly responded to a reported structure fire on the 900 block of Peachwood Court. The incident was initially alerted by concerned individuals who observed smoke emanating from the residence. A dog was also seen inside the affected property.

Upon receiving the distress call, the first fire engine arrived on the scene in an impressive time of 3 minutes and 41 seconds after being dispatched. The firefighters promptly located the source of the fire in the kitchen and brought it under control, successfully achieving knock-down. Simultaneously, they ensured the safe rescue of the dog from the premises.
Outside the house, firefighters administered immediate first aid to the rescued dog before arranging for its transfer to an emergency veterinary facility for further evaluation and care.
The fire is believed to have originated on the kitchen counter, specifically between the stove and refrigerator. From there, it spread to the surrounding cabinetry. Fortunately, the fire was contained within the kitchen area and did not extend into the attic or other parts of the dwelling. However, due to the burning of synthetic materials, the rest of the structure suffered extensive smoke damage.
In response to the incident, the Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the affected family, who were also in contact with their insurance carrier. The Red Cross will be offering support and aid to help the family during this challenging time.
Investigations into the cause of the fire have concluded that it was accidental in nature. The exact details of how the fire started are still unknown, but the focus remains on providing support to the affected family as they work through the aftermath of the incident.
