Earlier this morning, at approximately 1:47 a.m. officers from the Portland Police Central Precinct Entertainment Detail were on patrol when they encountered an in-progress shooting at the intersection of SW 3rd Avenue and SW Harvey Milk Street in Downtown Portland.
Officers provided medical aid on scene to two shooting victims. Despite their efforts, one was declared deceased on the scene. A second victim was transported to an area hospital for life threatening injuries. A third victim was transported for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators from the Homicide Detail arrived on scene to take over the investigation.
Officials say additional information, including the identity of the deceased victim, will be released at a later time.
