This is a developing incident. Medford Alert will continue to monitor and update as new information becomes available.
At approximately 10:28p tonight, ECSO 911 dispatchers received several calls regarding a crash the took place north of I5 Exit 33. Dispatch reported one vehicle fully engulfed with minimal spread to grass on the I5 median. A second vehicle involved was described as a rollover event.



Upon arrival, Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3) requested a Heavy Rescue unit from Medford Fire (MFD) to assist. Oregon State Police (OSP), ODOT, and two Mercy Flights (MFI) ambulances were also on scene, along with Central Point Police (CPPD) units.
Due to the widespread nature of the crash, both northbound and southbound lanes were closed as traffic was routed onto Exit 33 as a detour.
At this time, there is no official information regarding the conditions of the individuals involved in this crash. The vehicle fire and small grass fire have been extinguished. Motorists should expect an extended closure for the investigation.
