This is an update to our prior article regarding this incident.
On Thursday, June 1 at about 5:40 p.m., a Medford Police officer observed a subject known to them to have warrants for his arrest in an apartment complex off of Table Rock Road. Officers had prior information that this suspect may be armed. When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, it eluded at a high rate of speed. The officer did not pursue the vehicle. It was spotted moments later travelling northbound on Table Rock Road by other responding MPD officers.

The vehicle was at a high rate of speed, travelling north on Table Rock Road when the driver left the northbound lanes and went head on with a vehicle travelling southbound on Table Rock Road. The suspect vehicle struck the victim vehicle and then flipped into the front yard of a residence at the southwest corner of Table Rock Rd, Merriman Rd. The driver of the suspect vehicle, 35-year-old Daniel Ledezma fled from the vehicle, leaving two injured passengers behind. Ledezma fled through nearby neighborhood and was spotted multiple times.
A large perimeter was set as MPD units searched the area, including using a police K9 and police drones. At about 7:53 p.m. the suspect was located hiding up a tree in the neighborhood near the crash site. He was taken into custody without incident.
The passengers of the suspect vehicle were transported to a local hospital with significant injuries. The sole occupant of the victim vehicle was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (STAR) responded to investigate the vehicle collision and MPD detectives are conducting an on-going investigation into the suspects actions.
Daniel Ledezma was lodged at the Jackson County Jail on the charges of Assault 2 Vehicular ×3, Attempting to Elude and for his outstanding warrants. Possible additional charges are pending. Table Rock Road and some surrounding streets were closed until about 10 p.m. for the crash investigation.

A criminal complaint is only an accusation of a crime, and a suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
