At approximately 2:45p today, Portland Police East Precinct officers were dispatched to the 500 Block of Northeast 102nd Avenue on reports that a person had been shot.
Officers arrived and located a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The injured individual was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The name of the deceased will be released after cause and manner of death are confirmed by the Medical Examiner, and after close family members have been notified.
Portland Police Bureau’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene to assume control of the investigation.
No additional information was released by authorities at this time.
