At approximately 11:21a today, multiple Medford Fire and Medford Police units were dispatched to the 2200 block of N. Pacific Hwy for a reported structure fire. This took place at a longtime area business named Import Parts Center. Jackson County Fire District 3, Jackson County Fire District 5, and Jacksonville Fire also sent engine crews.
Medford Alert was first on scene, arriving prior to emergency crews, and observed a frantic scene of workers attempting to put out the flames.
Medford Police arrived shortly after and immediately instructed workers to evacuate the area. Two men were attempting to put small garden hoses on the flames. The fire raged from the from shop door area. As the fire grew, a nearby power line, sparked, snapped and fell to the ground. Luckily, there was no one near the line at the time.

Multiple MFD engines arrived and wasted no time in attacking the flames in the front of the structure. Additional firefighters were preparing to hit the fire from both the west and east sides of the building.

All northbound and southbound lanes on North Pacific Highway, between Table Rock and Lynn, were closed for about two hours while crews worked the fire.
Medford Alert talked to a individual connected with the business. They believed the fire may have started from welding that was taking place inside the auto parts garage. The fire will remain under investigation.
