At approximately 4:28p this evening, multiple Jackson County Fire District 5 (JCFD5) and Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) units were dispatched to the 300 block of Staples Lane for a reported vegetation fire.
As of 5:03, there are ten fire units either on scene of en route to assist. The fire is believed to be under 5 acres. There are no evacuation orders at this time.
5:25p UPDATE: Radio traffic reports forward movement of the fire has been stopped at approximately 2 acres. There is no current threat to surrounding structures or vegetation.
Medford Alert will continue to monitor this wildfire and provide updates as they become available.
FINAL UPDATE: Crews have finished mop up of the fire. The incident is under investigation.
