This is a developing incident. This is what we know currently.
At approximately 9:30a, a number of emergency units were dispatched to an area near the Ennis Riffle Campground on Galice Road in Merlin for a reported downed plane.
Unconfirmed scanner traffic reported that at least two occupants of the plane were alive with minor injuries.
Boats from Josephine County rescue units assisted in retrieving the individuals. it is believed to have happened near the boat ramp.
Josephine County authorities are requesting equipment to the scene to help mitigate any potential fuel runoff from the plane into the Rogue River.
FAA representatives were are heading to the scene to begin their part of the investigation.
Avoid the area, as this is still a very active scene.
