MEDFORD, Ore. (Oct. 5, 2026) — Cherry Street Meats will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 15 for its new facility in southwest Medford, marking the latest expansion of the family-owned business that has operated in Southern Oregon for more than four decades.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. at 986 Cherry St., followed by a community celebration scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m.
The event will feature free food, participating vendors and special sales throughout the week. Plymouth Poultry of Seattle is scheduled to participate, with additional vendors expected.
Bruce and Thea Emerson founded Cherry Street Meats and Emerson Distributing in 1981. The business was established to provide meat products to restaurants and the public.
The company is now a second-generation family business, with their son, Neil Emerson, continuing the family operation.
The new facility was constructed through a design-build partnership with S+B James Construction. People’s Bank of Commerce provided financing for the project in partnership with Business Oregon.
Cherry Street Meats has continued to serve restaurants, businesses and members of the public throughout Southern Oregon, with the company citing customer service, product quality and competitive pricing as longstanding priorities.
The Oct. 15 event will give customers and community members an opportunity to visit the new facility, meet company representatives and take part in the grand opening celebration.
