Deputies and fire personnel responded to the scene and contacted the individuals who initially called 911. The body was located in the main channel of the Rogue River.
The Jackson County dive team was activated to assist with recovery efforts.
The individual has not been identified, and authorities said next of kin had not been notified as of Monday.
The Josephine County Medical Examiner will continue the investigation, including efforts to identify the individual.
