GRANTS PASS, Ore. (Aug. 14, 2026) — Police are seeking information from the public after a man was seriously injured in an assault in Grants Pass on Thursday evening.

Grants Pass 911 received an emergency call shortly before 8 p.m. Aug. 13 reporting a major assault on Southridge Way, according to the Grants Pass Police Department.

A male victim was seriously injured and transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital for treatment. Patrol officers and Major Crimes detectives responded to both the scene and the hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing. Detectives are attempting to contact Michael Brinen Cutts, 40, for questioning in connection with the case.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about Cutts’ whereabouts or information related to the assault to contact the Grants Pass Police Department and request to speak with a detective.

Police have not released additional information about the circumstances of the assault or the victim’s current condition.

Cutts has not been charged in connection with the incident, and an attempt by detectives to contact him for questioning does not establish guilt.
