Search Underway for Missing Josephine County Teen

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (Apr. 9, 2026) — Authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing 16-year-old girl who was last seen earlier this week in Josephine County.

The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office said Grace Kathleen Peterson, a 16-year-old from the area, was last seen April 5, 2026, in the New Hope community. She is described as a white female, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes.

According to authorities, she was last seen wearing blue jeans and a maroon hooded sweatshirt.

Investigators said Grace is believed to be driving a pearl white 2015 Subaru Forester with Oregon license plate 233HBL. She may be staying in or around the Cave Junction area.

Officials are asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office at 541-474-5123.
