
MEDFORD, Ore. (Apr. 7, 2026) — A multi-vehicle collision on Oregon Route 62, also known as Crater Lake Highway, caused significant traffic congestion Tuesday afternoon in NE Medford, according to police.
The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes between Whittle Avenue and Delta Waters Road. Authorities first reported the incident at approximately 2:27 p.m., warning drivers to expect delays and to use caution while traveling through the area.
The Medford Police Department said its Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team is on scene investigating the collision. Details about the number of vehicles involved or whether there were injuries were not immediately available.
Traffic in the eastbound lanes remains congested, and officials are advising motorists to seek alternate routes. Through traffic is being directed to use the Rogue Valley Expressway (RVX) to avoid the affected area.
Police noted that license plates have been removed from any released images to protect the privacy of those involved.
