MEDFORD, Ore. (Jan. 9, 2026) — Four people with outstanding warrants were taken into custody Thursday afternoon following a multi-agency police response at a residence in the 4500 block of Wolf Run, Medford police said.
Officers responded after a neighbor reported suspicious activity at the home. The reporting party told police that a woman entering the residence advised the neighbor to call authorities if the situation escalated and was observed in possession of a firearm.
Police said the residence was already known to law enforcement due to prior calls for service and reports of suspicious activity. Attempts by officers to contact occupants inside the home were unsuccessful. Based on information available at the time, officers identified the individual as a wanted subject, a convicted felon believed to be armed with a shotgun.
Given the circumstances — including reports of a firearm, the identified wanted subject, the history of the property and the lack of communication — officers implemented a multi-layered response focused on public and officer safety, authorities said.
A perimeter was established and the Medford Police Department’s SWAT team was activated to manage the situation and reduce risk to nearby residents. Police said the SWAT response also allowed patrol officers to return to other calls for service across the city.
During the operation, drones were deployed to provide aerial surveillance of the structure. Officers conducted a low-grade explosive breach at the front door to gain entry, a method police said is designed to quickly secure access while minimizing prolonged risk, despite the loud noise. A K-9 team assisted in searching the residence, and the Crisis Negotiation Team was on scene but was unable to engage after occupants refused to communicate.
As a result of the operation, four individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants:
• Amanda Torres, wanted on Medford Police Department warrants for failure to appear related to Theft II, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and Theft I.
• Raylene Pineda, wanted on Jackson County Sheriff’s Office warrants for failure to appear on charges including DUII, reckless driving (two counts) and criminal mischief.
• Mario Alcauter-Willa, arrested on a detainer.
• Rebecca Baza, wanted on Jackson County Sheriff’s Office warrants for failure to appear related to Theft I and identity theft (two counts).
Police said the scene was safely cleared and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities thanked nearby residents for their cooperation and patience during the incident.
