Medford Police Department Supports Families in Need for Christmas

MEDFORD, Ore. (Dec. 25, 2025) — The Medford Police Department marked the holiday season by rallying support for local families facing hardship, continuing an annual tradition aimed at bringing relief and joy during Christmas.

Each year, Medford police officers and detectives nominate families who may be struggling and could benefit from additional support during the holidays. This year, eight families were selected through the program.

Department staff worked to identify the specific needs of each family and created individualized Christmas wishlists. City of Medford employees then volunteered to shop for the children, helping ensure gifts were tailored to each family and delivered in time for the holiday.

In addition to wrapped presents, the families received gift cards intended to assist with meals, extra gifts or other essential expenses during the Christmas season.

The Medford Police Association helped complete the effort by providing a $2,000 donation, covering remaining items on the families’ wishlists.

Police officials expressed gratitude for the collective effort, praising the generosity of department staff, city employees and the Medford Police Association. The department said the program reflects a broader commitment within the Medford community to support one another, particularly during the holiday season.
