Car Slams Into Tree in Medford; Two Suffer Serious Injuries

MEDFORD, Ore. (Nov 17, 2025) — Two people were seriously injured Friday night after a vehicle crashed into a tree, Medford Police said.

Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the listed area after 9 p.m. When they arrived, occupants told police they had been fleeing another vehicle after being “menaced with a firearm.”

After further investigation, officers determined “the menacing report to be unfounded.” Police said one person who had been in the vehicle ran off before officers arrived but was later contacted and confirmed the crash “resulted from reckless driving.”

Two occupants were transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Police said one remains in critical care, while another will require plastic surgery for “significant facial injuries.”

The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team was notified and is assisting with the investigation.

Authorities issued a reminder to drivers that “reckless driving puts everyone at risk,” urging the public to “slow down, stay alert, and drive responsibly—your choices behind the wheel can prevent serious injury or worse.”
