Southern Oregon Trade Careers Expo to Highlight Living-Wage Careers

Southern Oregon Trade Careers Expo

Canyonville, Oregon- The Southern Oregon Trade Careers Expo will hold its fifth biennial event Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Seven Feathers Convention Center and its adjoining 9-acre outdoor exhibit grounds.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is expected to draw more than 2,500 attendees. Organizers said more than 140 employers, unions and training programs will be represented, offering demonstrations and information on careers across more than 16 industries.

The Expo differs from a typical career fair by featuring hands-on exhibits with tools, robotics and equipment. Attendees will also be able to meet employers, apprenticeship coordinators and industry professionals.

The event is free and open to job seekers, career changers, students, veterans, active-duty military members and their spouses. No registration is required. A media and community leaders’ tour is scheduled for 11 a.m., beginning at the north parking lot entrance.

Industries to be represented include agriculture, construction, healthcare, forestry, robotics, law enforcement and transportation.

The Expo was first held in 2017 and is organized by volunteers from industry, education and workforce development organizations. Platinum sponsors for 2025 are the Southern Oregon Workforce Investment Board, Recruit Hippo and The Roundhouse Foundation, with additional support from more than two dozen partners.

The event will be held at 146 Chief Miwaleta Lane in Canyonville. More information is available at http://www.empowerthepossible.org.
