Phoenix, Oregon- This week’s featured Dog of the Week from the Jackson County Animal Shelter is Sundae, an 11-month-old Catahoula mix bursting with personality, brains, and energy.
True to her name, Sundae is a perfectly blended mix of sweet, silly, and smart. With a rich chocolate-colored coat and expressive eyes, this young pup is as eye-catching as she is affectionate. She already knows basic commands like “sit” and “lie down,” and with her love of treats and Catahoula smarts, she’s a star in the making when it comes to training.
Sundae is a high-energy working-breed dog who will thrive in an active home with plenty of exercise, structure, and mental stimulation. Agility activities, puzzle toys, and regular adventures will help keep her curious mind and body engaged. She’s playful, vocal, and may not be the best fit for apartment living or first-time dog owners. A home with breed experience is strongly preferred.
While she has enjoyed playing with respectful, medium-energy dog friends at the shelter, a meet-and-greet is required for any potential canine siblings. Her compatibility with cats is still unknown.
Though the shelter environment can make her a bit jumpy or mouthy, Sundae loves human companionship and is ready to pour her heart into a new forever home. She’s strong on a leash and eager to explore, making her an ideal partner for outdoor adventures.
Sundae is currently available for adoption at the Jackson County Animal Shelter in Phoenix. Those interested can contact the shelter directly to learn more or schedule a visit to meet her in person.
Adoption means embarking on a shared adventure filled with learning, unforgettable experiences, and the warm companionship of these lively dogs. The shelter encourages individuals interested in meeting and potentially adopting these lovable animals to reach out. Contact the shelter at 541-774-6654, press 5 for adoptions, and start the process of welcoming these sweethearts into your loving home.
