Medford, Oregon- The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for north central Siskiyou County in northern California and southwestern Jackson County in southwestern Oregon. The warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday.
At 7:22 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located about 7 miles northwest of Klamath River, or 19 miles southwest of Ashland, moving northwest at 20 mph.
The storm is producing radar-indicated threats of 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, with potential damage expected to vehicles, roofs, siding, and trees.
Areas expected to be impacted include Applegate Lake, Squaw Lakes Recreation Site, and Kennedy Meadows.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to take shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
