Eagle Point, Oregon- A house fire that broke out in the 100 block of Ponderosa Way in Eagle Point on Wednesday evening was quickly brought under control by Jackson County Fire District 3 crews, officials said.
The fire, first reported around 5:07 p.m., prompted a swift response from multiple units. Upon arrival, firefighters launched offensive operations and made what officials called a “strong stop” on the blaze. The fire had extended into the attic above the living area and near the interior man door of the garage, but crews were able to halt its progress with aggressive tactics.
According to a 6:00 p.m. update from the fire district, the fire was knocked down and crews transitioned to overhaul operations to check for hot spots and ensure full extinguishment. Firefighters utilized a 2 1/4-inch hose line to attack the fire from the garage and a 1 3/4-inch interior line to contain the blaze at the man door. A primary search of the residence was quickly completed, and no injuries have been reported.
Firefighters remained on scene into the evening to monitor conditions and complete overhaul. A Fire Marshal Division was also on site, as the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Jackson County Fire District 3 expressed gratitude to Medford Fire Department and Jackson County Fire District 4 for providing area coverage during the incident.
