City of Medford Splash Pads Now Open for Summer Season

Medford, Oregon- All City of Medford splash pads are now open for the season as of Thursday, May 22, offering residents a fun and mostly free way to stay cool just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.

Operating daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the splash pads are located at six parks throughout the city:

• Fichtner-Mainwaring Park – 334 Holmes Avenue

• Hawthorne Park – 501 East Main Street

• Lewis Park – 130 Lewis Avenue

• Lone Pine Park – 3286 Lone Pine Road

• Oregon Hills Park – 6001 East McAndrews Road

• Rogue X – 901 Rossanley Drive (with paid admission)

City officials encourage families and individuals to take advantage of the splash pads as temperatures climb. “Splash pads are a great way for residents to cool off while enjoying Medford’s parks and open spaces,” the city said in a statement.

With the warm weather settling in, residents are also reminded to follow hot weather safety guidelines:

Stay hydrated with plenty of water Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, and reapply every two hours Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and a hat Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles Take breaks in shaded areas or park shelters

City officials also encourage the public to check on vulnerable neighbors and loved ones during periods of extreme heat.

Whether planning a family outing or just looking to cool off for a few minutes, Medford’s splash pads are now ready to bring a splash of summer fun to neighborhoods across the city.
