Family Pet Rescued in Southwest Medford Apartment Fire

Medford, Oregon- A kitchen fire at an apartment complex in southwest Medford was quickly contained by fire crews Wednesday afternoon, with no injuries reported.

The fire broke out shortly before 12:45 p.m. in the 200 block of King Street. Multiple fire crews responded and were able to knock down the flames, which were confined to the kitchen area of a single apartment.

All occupants safely evacuated, and firefighters successfully rescued a family pet from the unit. No injuries were reported among residents or first responders.

Crews completed overhaul operations and cleared hose lines by early afternoon, allowing the street to reopen to traffic.

A Deputy Fire Marshal investigated the scene and is working with the affected occupant to determine the cause of the fire and provide any necessary assistance.

Fire officials thanked the community for their patience during the response.
