Josephine County, Oregon– A Cave Junction man was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 199 near Waldamar Road, according to Oregon State Police.
Troopers responded to the collision at approximately 10:48 a.m. on May 19. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Toyota Corolla, driven by 24-year-old Hunter Lee Bryant of Cave Junction, was traveling eastbound on Waldamar Road when it failed to stop at a posted stop sign and entered the highway. The Toyota was struck on the driver’s side by a southbound GMC Yukon driven by Scott Adam Seaman, 59, of Selma.
Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene. Seaman sustained minor injuries, authorities said.
The highway was closed or partially blocked for about three hours while investigators worked at the scene. Oregon State Police were assisted by the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
According to authorities, the investigation is ongoing.
