Special Election 2025: Early Results Show Clear Winners

Medford, Oregon- All 50 precincts have reported in Jackson County’s May 20 special election, with unofficial results showing 20,791 ballots cast across multiple school board, fire district, and service district races, as well as two levy measures.

Education Boards:

In the Rogue Community College District:

Zone 3: Vanessa L. Jones won with 98.77% (2,338 votes), defeating write-ins (1.23%). Zone 6: Roger W. Stokes received 98.16% (3,687 votes). Zone 7: Maria Ramos Underwood won with 97.56% (2,641 votes).

In the Southern Oregon Education Service District:

Zone 5: Ariel Bloomer won with 99.35%. Zone 6: Rebecca Mueller secured 98.24%. Zone 7: Richard Owens won with 62.76% over Noel Porter (36.17%). Zone 8: Mary K. Barton received 98.60%.

Ashland School District 5:

Position 1: Jordan Rooklyn defeated Ann M. Gaffney, 64.36% to 35.43%. Position 3: Deltra Ferguson led with 55.86%, over Noelle Christensen (24.87%) and Susanne McGraw (19.17%). Position 4: Rebecca Dyson topped the field with 59.16%.

Butte Falls School District 91:

Positions 1, 2, and 5 were won by Katie Misfeldt (99.11%), Mark C. Carlton (98.20%), and Dianne Gorman (99.11%).

Central Point School District 6:

Position 1, Zone 1: C.J. Shipley won with 98.83%. Position 2, Zone 1: April D. Deagle led with 36.83%, over Kellie Hobbs (28.22%), Jenny Foster (26.15%), and Micah Hillis (8.41%). Position 4, Zone 2: Jolee Wallace secured 99.44%.

Eagle Point School District 9:

Positions 2, 3, and 5 were won by Randy Wolf (97.98%), Joshua A. Graves (98.06%), and Emily McIntire (97.66%).

Medford School District 549C:

Position 1: Angela Zbikowski secured 65.40%, defeating Curt Ankerberg (18.58%) and Cheyla Breedlove (15.80%). Position 2: Sandra LaNier McHenry led with 66.70%, over Donovan Donnally (17.53%) and Logan L. Vaughan (15.50%). Position 3: Erik Johnsen topped the race with 48.59%, followed by Cynthia Wright (30.54%) and Taryne Saunders (20.65%).

Phoenix-Talent School District 4:

Pos. 1, Zone 2: Diana Rasmussen won with 98.78%. Pos. 3, Zone 1: Nancy Castillo McKinnis received 98.71%. Pos. 6, Zone 2: Michael Campbell garnered 99.46%. Pos. 7, Zone 2: Polly Fowler-Farrimond won with 98.87%.

Pinehurst School District 94:

Position 1: Rachel Pellow took 90.91%. Position 4: Mary Anne Crandall secured 90.48%.

Prospect School District 59:

Positions 3, 4, and 5 went to Ray Williams (99.30%), Debbie Baker (98.59%), and Virginia Rigel (97.16%).

Rogue River School District 35:

Position 2: Mysti Jacob won with 98.27%. Position 4: Bruce R. Sund (98.10%). Position 5: Erin Poston (97.36%).

Three Rivers School District:

Zone 1: Cameron Camp defeated Neigel Von Hruska, 75.00% to 21.25%. Zone 3: Bill Ertel edged Mariah Rossi, 51.25% to 45.00%. Zone 5: Carinn Godfrey won with 66.67%.

Fire and Rural Protection Districts (RFPDs):

Applegate Valley RFPD 9:

Positions 4 and 5 went to Rob Underwood (99.12%) and Doug Stewart (99.08%).

Evans Valley RFPD 6:

Positions 2, 3, and 5 were secured by Jesse Meinerts (98.05%), Ed John (98.03%), and Heather M. Friend (98.07%).

Greensprings RFPD:

Positions 3 and 4 were won by Todd Breeding and Matt Watson (91.67% each). Position 5 was decided entirely by write-ins.

Jackson County RFPD 3:

Position 2: Tim Snaith won with 99.24%. Position 4: Steve Shafer secured 99.33%.

Jackson County RFPD 4:

Position 2: Greg Winfrey received 98.51%. Position 3: Chet T. Krupa won with 98.96%.

Jackson County RFPD 5:

Position 2 (2yr): John Karns received 99.62%. Position 3: Alfredo Echaide led Chris Luz, 66.21% to 33.63%. Position 4: Eleanor Ponomareff narrowly beat Jennifer Hadden, 50.44% to 49.17%. Position 5: Gregory Alan Costanzo won with 98.92%.

Lake Creek RFPD:

Positions 3–5 were secured by Dennis Keife (97.37%), Susan L. Hanson (97.50%), and Keith Mapes (97.67%).

Medford RFPD 2:

Position 3: Jack Tait won with 99.71%. Position 4: Glenn Dombras received 99.70%.

Prospect RFPD:

Positions 1, 3 (2yr), and 4 were won by Pam Lee (97.18%), Michael Pearson (99.30%), and Gunner Gibson (97.92%). Position 5: Natalie Williams beat Clay Thomas, 64.50% to 34.32%.

Rogue River RFPD 1:

Position 1: William R. Cort (98.38%). Position 3: Jim Stearns (99.01%). Position 4: John Foster narrowly won over Chuck Nagel, 51.44% to 48.35%.

Water and Sewer Districts:

Elk City Water District:

Shannon M. Crawford received 66.67% in the commissioner race, with write-ins filling the remaining votes.

Rogue Valley Sewer Services District:

Two seats: Roger E. Thom led with 63.84%, followed by John Edwards (35.73%).

Rogue Valley Transportation District:

Position 4: Tyler Jasper received 99.20%. Position 5: Katrina Ehrnman-Newton led with 60.57%, over Sam Bickel (39.12%). Position 6: Dan Davis (99.16%). Position 7: Karl MacNair (99.15%).

Measures:

Measure 15-236 (Jackson County RFPD 4 Levy): Approved 58.58% to 41.42%. Measure 15-237 (Prospect RFPD Levy): Passed 58.89% to 41.11%.

All results are unofficial until certified. Turnout was consistent with previous special elections.
