

Medford, Oregon- A fire that broke out Thursday in a home on the 900 block of Central Avenue was quickly contained to a single room by Medford Fire Department crews, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to the blaze between Clark and Edwards streets, where multiple units worked to extinguish the flames. By 1:38 p.m., the fire was knocked down and contained to its room of origin.
A family of three safely evacuated the home before crews arrived, alerted by working smoke alarms. No injuries were reported among the residents or responding firefighters.
Lanes of travel on North Central Avenue, which were closed during the incident, are being reopened as operations wrap up.
The Deputy Fire Marshal of the Medford Fire Department is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
Officials thanked the public for avoiding the area while crews worked to ensure safety.
