RCC Expands Dental Assisting Program to Grants Pass

Grants Pass, Oregon- Rogue Community College (RCC) will begin offering its Dental Assisting certificate program at the Redwood Campus in Grants Pass starting in fall 2025. The program is currently offered at RCC’s Table Rock Campus in White City, alongside the college’s two-year associate degree in Dental Hygiene.

The Dental Assisting program is a one-year, special admissions course that begins each fall and concludes with a practicum in a dental office. Students must complete several prerequisite courses before enrolling. The application window for the fall term is now open and will close on May 30. Attendance at a program information session is required before submitting an application.

Information sessions will be held virtually via Zoom on Monday, April 14 at 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday, May 6 at noon. Links to the sessions are available at roguecc.edu/dental, or by emailing dentalinfo@roguecc.edu.

Dental assistants support both clinical and administrative functions in dental offices. Their responsibilities may include preparing patients for procedures, taking radiographs, creating dental impressions, charting, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing and insurance.
