Josephine County Issues Road Hazard Update Following Flooding

Grants Pass, Oregon- Josephine County officials have issued an update on road conditions as floodwaters begin to subside. While some roads have reopened, several hazards remain, and Public Works crews are continuing to assess conditions and address issues.

Officials have identified the following areas where drivers should exercise caution or expect closures:

• Leonard Road – Closed to all traffic just west of Redwood Elementary School.

• Riverbanks Road – A rock slide in the 6100 block is affecting traffic. Drivers are advised to use caution.

• Livingston Way – Reduced to one lane for local traffic only in the 4400 block.

• Galice Road, Lower Wolf Creek Road, and Lower Grave Creek Road – This loop west of Indian Mary Park is restricted to local traffic only.

• Gene Brown Road – Limited to local traffic only in the O’Brien area off Highway 199.

• Southside Road – A slide east of Fish Hatchery Road is partially blocking the road. Drivers should proceed with caution.

• North Applegate Road – Excessive rock and debris in the 12000 block near Kubli Road require careful driving.

• Winona Road – Significant debris on the road. Extreme caution is advised.

County officials are urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas and to follow posted signs and detours. Further updates will be provided as conditions change.
