Cold Weather Advisory

Medford, Oregon– The National Weather Service (NWS) in Medford has issued a cold weather advisory for multiple counties in southern Oregon. The advisory will be in effect from 10 p.m. tonight until 9 a.m. Wednesday, warning residents of very cold temperatures ranging between 15 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit.

The affected areas include Central Douglas County, Eastern Curry County, Josephine County, Eastern Douglas County Foothills, and Jackson County. Communities such as Roseburg, Tiller, Elkton, Grants Pass, Cave Junction, Medford, Ashland, Shady Cove, Steamboat, and Toketee Falls are expected to experience freezing conditions.

The NWS cautions that these temperatures can pose serious health risks, including hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Residents are advised to wear appropriate clothing, including hats and gloves, when venturing outside.

Additionally, precautions should be taken to protect pets and livestock from the harsh conditions by providing warm and dry shelters, food, and unfrozen water.

The advisory emphasizes the importance of preparedness, particularly for those planning outdoor travel or activities during the warning period. Officials urge residents to use caution and stay informed about weather updates.
