Customers and Staff Avoid Serious Injuries After Car Crashes Into Cafe

Central Point, Oregon- At approximately 8:16 a.m. today, units from the Central Point Police Department (CPPD) and Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3) responded to an incident at the Palms Cafe, located at 501 S. Front Street, where a vehicle drove into the building.

The collision caused significant damage to the cafe’s front entrance, but officials confirmed that no serious injuries occurred.

The Palms Cafe issued a statement on its social media platforms, noting the temporary closure of the business due to the damage. “Unfortunately, we will be closed for a little while. A customer [drove] a vehicle through the front door. Thankfully no one was serious injured, but there is a lot of repairs to be made. Please send us your thoughts and prayers. We could use them right now. Keep you updated,” the post read.

CPPD and JCFD3 are continuing to assess the situation. No further details regarding the cause of the incident or the identity of the driver have been released.
