
Eagle Point, Oregon- A 57-year-old resident of Eagle Point sustained multiple non-life-threatening injuries during a knife assault on Sunday evening. Authorities have identified the victim as Webster M. Jackson, who was treated and released from a local hospital following the incident. The suspect, Anthony C. Holzhauer, 65, also of Eagle Point, is in custody and faces multiple charges.
The incident occurred on December 2, 2024, at approximately 5:38 p.m. in the 300 block of Lorraine Avenue. According to the Eagle Point Police Department, officers and deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a physical altercation involving a knife. Dispatch reports indicated that Holzhauer was being restrained by a resident when law enforcement arrived.
Investigators determined that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement over money. During the confrontation, Holzhauer allegedly brandished a knife and inflicted lacerations to Jackson’s head, face, and chest. Jackson managed to subdue Holzhauer until neighbors alerted authorities. Officers detained Holzhauer without incident.
Holzhauer was transported to the Jackson County Jail and is charged with Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon-Aggravated Assault, and Harassment. The case has been referred to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
Officials confirmed that no other individuals were involved and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The incident is being treated as an isolated dispute. Authorities say further details may be released pending the conclusion of the investigation.
