
Jackson County, Oregon- Interstate 5 is facing significant disruptions following a multi-truck accident near milepost 4 on the northbound side, close to Siskiyou Summit. Several trucks have jackknifed in both directions, prompting emergency responses and a temporary road closure. Authorities are urging drivers to prepare for extended delays as snowplows and response teams work to clear the area.
In response to the incident and challenging weather conditions, a temporary hold has been implemented at milepost 11 on the southbound side and at the Oregon-California border northbound. Drivers should expect to encounter ongoing delays and are advised to stay alert for updates on changing road conditions.
Travelers are reminded to carry tire chains and other winter essentials, with state officials recommending that those who can delay their travel plans do so until conditions improve.
